May 10th - The Northern Lights!
International students gathered after hours for an impromptu evening at Mowat Bay to take in the “once in a lifetime” Northern Lights spectacle. It was incredible!

May 9th - International Fair - Host Family Thank You and Celebration Evening
International Students gathered with their host families and local staff to celebrate their time together and say thank you. Students worked diligently in tandem with Culinary Arts students to prepare amazing cuisine from their home countries, while making informative boards and international decorations. It was an amazing evening of culture and diversity at Brooks!

May 9th - International Fair - Food Prep!
Culinary Arts and International students teamed up to make an incredible feast for their host families on the International Fair Night!

May 9th - International Fair - Daytime School Presentations
Students shared their cultures and experiences with the entire Brooks student body in an incredibly diverse International Fair. 13 Countries were represented and over 400 students participated!

May 4th - Beach Volleyball Get Together
After a fun week, we all gathered for some great vibes on Willingdon Beach for some volleyball, pizza, and laughs.

May 3rd - School Assembly (May 4th Star Wars Theme)

May 2nd - Marina, Rocky Mountain Bakery, and 5 Pin Bowling
International Students went to the Marina, took a stroll on Marine Avenue, stopped by Rocky Mountain Bakery before going 5 Pin (uniquely Canadian) Bowling on a gorgeous BC day!
April 25th - Townsite Monuments History Selfies
Students walked Townsite and took pictures of historical markers, starting a dialogue on the history of the town.

April 18th - Mount Valentine Hike
New students joined their peers and hike up Mount Valentine. It was a 45 minute uphill walk from Brooks. We were treated to gorgeous views of Westview, Townsite, Cranberry, and Wildwood.

April 4 - Townsite Walk
Students walked through the historic Townsite District, and explored old architecture, the mills, the Patricia Theatre, Dwight Hall, the marketplace, and more!

April 4 - Nature Loop
New students went for a walk around the nature loop trails behind Brooks to orient themselves to the area.

April 2 - New Students Arriving
We welcomed 12 new students to Brooks!

Spring Break - Vancouver Island
Students took a Spring Break Trip to explore the nearby Vancouver Island!

March 14th - Ice Hockey
“The good old hockey game, is the best game you can name. And the best game you can name, is the good old hockey game!” (Stompin’ Tom) Students took back to the ice after their initial skating in February to play the national sport!

March 7th - Historic Townsite Walking Tour
Students took a walk to explore the Historic Townsite District. They learned about the mill, company towns, historic buildings, architecture, and local history and lore.

March 5th - Biography Writing
Each new International Student gets to help create a simple biography with their peers!

February 29th - Leap Day Dance!
Students celebrated Leap Day with a Frog-Themed, semi-formal school dance. The place was bumpin’!

February 29th - Skating Trip
Students took to the ice at the Recreation Complex and showed off their skating and hockey skills!

February 28th - Chinese Culture Presentation
Visiting educational guests from China gave a cultural presentation to students that included questions and crafts!

February 22nd - Bus Tour of Town
Students to an overcast bus excursion around the town, to explore Willingdon Beach, Marine Avenue, Rocky Mountain Bakery, the Marina, Cranberry, Mowat Bay, Wildwood, and Townsite.
