September 3rd, 2024 - New Students Orientation - Welcome to Brooks!
Over 50 brand new International Students gathered at Brooks for a day of orientation and socializing at school.
End of June 2024 - Goodbyes!

June 25th - Scout Mountain Hike and The Shingle Mill
Students has the chance to take the adventurous trek up Scout Mountain for a beautiful lookout, and some time to reflect on our year at Brooks together. After, we hiked down the face to the historic Shingle Mill, and had a wonderful late lunch.
June 20th - Farewell BBQ
International Students, Homestay Families and Staff gathered at Willingdon Beach for a final BBQ. It was a great evening, with beautiful weather, and lots of fun!
June 20th - Farewell Gathering
International Students gathered in the Max Cameron Theatre to celebrate the year, and be recognized for their achievements.
June 18th - Savary Island
International students headed to Lund, where they took the Water Taxi to the elusive Savary Island for a brilliant day of pristine natural beaches and sun. It was a small piece of paradise!
June 13th - Texada Island Field Trip
Mr. Sytnick’s Canadian Studies took the day to head to Texada Island! We took in the Aerospace Museum, Shelter Point, Van Anda, The Texada Museum, Texada Elementary, Anderson Beach, and Emily Lake. It was an incredible day!
June 10 - Outdoor Learning Center
All International students took the day to head to the District Outdoor Learning Center. Students explored, canoed, make art, ate, sang, danced, and played together. It was a beautiful day on Powell Lake.
June 8th - Brooks Graduation 2024
Two thousand people attended, and hundreds more watched online, as Brooks celebrated the Graduating Class of 2024! All the best in the future. A very special congratulations to our International Grads Sophie, Johanna, Patrick, Akari, Nine, Jimmy, Justine, Elia, Alex and Mizuto!
June 6th - Willingdon Beach
With Mr. Sytnick away setting up Grad, the students, Mrs. Sanderson, and Mr. Howard walked down to Willingdon Beach to take in a beautiful day.
May 31 - Nanaimo Trip
Students got the chance to seize the day and take a trip to Nanaimo (on Vancouver Island). They had a blast at Wild Play, and then made their way to the historic Coombs market.
May 30th - Summer Lund Excursion
26 Students headed to the “end of the road” in Lund, BC. We were able to see Savary Island, the Road 101 Marker, and visit Nancy’s Bakery! It was a beautiful morning!
May 23 - Rock Climbing
Students went to the qathet Climbing Co-op in Townsite to work on their rock climbing skills!
May 16 - Putters Mini Golf
International Students went to Putters to try their luck at Mini Golf! Fore!
May 10th - The Northern Lights!
International students gathered after hours for an impromptu evening at Mowat Bay to take in the “once in a lifetime” Northern Lights spectacle. It was incredible!
May 9th - International Fair - Host Family Thank You and Celebration Evening
International Students gathered with their host families and local staff to celebrate their time together and say thank you. Students worked diligently in tandem with Culinary Arts students to prepare amazing cuisine from their home countries, while making informative boards and international decorations. It was an amazing evening of culture and diversity at Brooks!
May 9th - International Fair - Food Prep!
Culinary Arts and International students teamed up to make an incredible feast for their host families on the International Fair Night!
May 9th - International Fair - Daytime School Presentations
Students shared their cultures and experiences with the entire Brooks student body in an incredibly diverse International Fair. 13 Countries were represented and over 400 students participated!
May 4th - Beach Volleyball Get Together
After a fun week, we all gathered for some great vibes on Willingdon Beach for some volleyball, pizza, and laughs.
