September 23-27 - Historic Townsite Exploration and Bakery
Brooks Students took to the streets of our historic Townsite District. They explored landmarks to research, and even took in Dwight Hall, and an amazing Bakery!
September 16-17 - Mini Golf, Marina, Bakery and Marine Drive!
Brooks Students took to the town, and travelled to the Marina and Rocky Mountain Bakery, then walked Marine Drive to Putter’s Mini Golf!
September 17th - Career Fair
Brooks Secondary welcomed professionals from all over the coast to share their careers with our students.
September 16th - Cops For Cancer
Brooks Secondary welcomed Cops For Cancer and presented them with $750 towards their ride fundraiser!
September 18th - Outdoor Learning Center
All Brooks International kids got to spend a day at the beautiful Outdoor Learning Center, where they took part in numerous team-building outdoor activities.
September 19th - Club and Team fair
All Brooks students got to mix and mingle as they explored their club and team opportunities for the year.
September 13th - School Wide Assembly
All of Brooks Secondary gathered as one to celebrate the coming school year! GO THUNDERBIRDS!
September 12th - Brooks Nature Loop Walk
We are lucky enough to have gorgeous trails right outside our doors at Brooks, and the International Students went exploring the nearby loop.
September 9th and 10th - Mount Valentine Hike
Students hiked from Brooks to the top of the nearby Mount Valentine for some spectacular views of the local area.
September 6th - Beach Volleyball and Pizza Get Together
After a busy first week, the 60+ International students were invited to Willingdon Beach to hang out, play volleyball, and have some pizza!
September 6th - Bus Tour Around Powell River
To get the new students oriented, Mr. Sytnick and Mrs. Sanderson took a bus tour around town. We visited Willingdon Beach, the Marina, the Seawalk Lookout, The Mall, Mowat Bay, Wildwood, and Townsite.
September 4th - First Day of School

September 3rd, 2024 - New Students Orientation - Welcome to Brooks!
Over 50 brand new International Students gathered at Brooks for a day of orientation and socializing at school.
End of June 2024 - Goodbyes!

June 25th - Scout Mountain Hike and The Shingle Mill
Students has the chance to take the adventurous trek up Scout Mountain for a beautiful lookout, and some time to reflect on our year at Brooks together. After, we hiked down the face to the historic Shingle Mill, and had a wonderful late lunch.
June 20th - Farewell BBQ
International Students, Homestay Families and Staff gathered at Willingdon Beach for a final BBQ. It was a great evening, with beautiful weather, and lots of fun!
June 20th - Farewell Gathering
International Students gathered in the Max Cameron Theatre to celebrate the year, and be recognized for their achievements.
June 18th - Savary Island
International students headed to Lund, where they took the Water Taxi to the elusive Savary Island for a brilliant day of pristine natural beaches and sun. It was a small piece of paradise!
June 13th - Texada Island Field Trip
Mr. Sytnick’s Canadian Studies took the day to head to Texada Island! We took in the Aerospace Museum, Shelter Point, Van Anda, The Texada Museum, Texada Elementary, Anderson Beach, and Emily Lake. It was an incredible day!
June 10 - Outdoor Learning Center
All International students took the day to head to the District Outdoor Learning Center. Students explored, canoed, make art, ate, sang, danced, and played together. It was a beautiful day on Powell Lake.
