
November 28th - Nanaimo Shopping Trip
Students took the ferry to the island to “shop ‘till they drop” in preparation for the holiday season.
November 25th and 26th - Curling
Students took to the ice to try a sport deeply engrained in Canadian culture. They got instruction by 4-5 coaches, and will return next week to compete!
November 22nd - School Assembly
Brooks gathered to celebrate a successful first quarter and a change of seasons! Many clubs, teams, and students were celebrated.
November 18th and 19th - Bowling at Strikers
Students got to try 5 Pin Bowling (really only popular in Canada), and even shoot some pool downtown.
November 5th and 15th - Rock Climbing at Top Out
Students got the chance to try the walls and ropes at the local climbing co-op. They did great!
November 4th and 5th - Patricia Theatre Tour
Students braved the elements and walked down to the landmark Patricia Theatre. We got a tour of the longest continuously running theatre in Canada by Gary of the qathet Film Society!
October 31st - Halloween

October 30th - Brooks Halloween Dance
Brooks students did the Monster Mash all night at our annual Halloween Dance!
October 28th and 29th - Lund Excursion
Students took to the End of the Road, and saw some beautiful seascapes, and had cinnamon buns at Nancy’s Bakery!

October 25th - Vancouver Island Trip
International students took the ferry to Vancouver Island for an Autumn Adventure. Highlights included Coombs Market, Silver Meadows Farms, and the Wildlife Recovery Center.

October 24th - Pumpkin Carving
Students had the chance to carve some spooky pumpkins together, in preparation for the Halloween holiday!
October 21st and 22nd - Salmon Society Visit
Brooks students got to see local salmon running at the Alex Dobler Salmon Center.

October 11th - Terry Fox Run
All of Brooks fundraised by participating in the Terry Fox Run, celebrating a national hero.

October 7th and 8th - Mushroom Picking
Students went with Ms. Tuba’s class on a mushroom picking adventure in the local rainforest.
September 23-27 - Historic Townsite Exploration and Bakery
Brooks Students took to the streets of our historic Townsite District. They explored landmarks to research, and even took in Dwight Hall, and an amazing Bakery!
September 16-17 - Mini Golf, Marina, Bakery and Marine Drive!
Brooks Students took to the town, and travelled to the Marina and Rocky Mountain Bakery, then walked Marine Drive to Putter’s Mini Golf!
September 17th - Career Fair
Brooks Secondary welcomed professionals from all over the coast to share their careers with our students.
September 16th - Cops For Cancer
Brooks Secondary welcomed Cops For Cancer and presented them with $750 towards their ride fundraiser!
September 18th - Outdoor Learning Center
All Brooks International kids got to spend a day at the beautiful Outdoor Learning Center, where they took part in numerous team-building outdoor activities.
September 19th - Club and Team fair
All Brooks students got to mix and mingle as they explored their club and team opportunities for the year.
